From Monday, October 21 to Friday, October 25, CLICKNL organizes the Design Innovation Sessions! From 11.00 to about 13.30 including networking lunch, we will organize a daily inspiring event in Natlab, adjacent to Strijp-S, to inspire, inform and take you into what’s hot & happening.

During the Design Innovation Sessions we bring design and research together, and touch upon different themes that we will address in different ways. What are the big issues and opportunities for the creative industry within the themes? What are inspiring project examples now , and what ambitious projects are in the pipeline or currently underway?

Themes
Various speakers – from the creative industry, and from the world of knowledge will talk about a (completed) collaborative project, about what new knowledge they have gained or developed and what they want to innovate. The speakers will talk within the following themes:

  • Living Environment: about the built environment & mobility (Monday, Oct. 21) by RP Kruizinga, Design Director of MODYN

  • Thriving Planet; about more sustainable design (Tuesday, Oct. 22)

  • Digital Future; on digital futures (Wednesday, Oct. 23)

  • Health & Well-being; on care, prevention and well-being (Thursday, Oct. 24)

  • Equal Society; about social systems and equality (Friday, Oct. 25)

Astro Tech - Longtail cargo e-bike

Cities and urban areas are witnessing a shift as cycling replaces cars as the primary mode of transport. Notably, frontloading cargo bikes have gained traction, with the long- tail cargo bike now on the rise.

The UM long- tail cargo bike offers enhanced comfort for cargo transportation. Its 24” wheels provide a smoother ride and stability with a low center of gravity, complemented by front suspension for added comfort.

Prodigee ICON bike seats

The Prodigee ICON Seats are crafted for those who value style, comfort, and uncompromised safety. Much like a parent’s protective embrace, the rear seat’s structural frame wraps around the seat and headrest, offering unparalleled security. This thoughtful design prioritizes head protection, outperforming other brands. The shock-absorbing padding ensures comfort for even the longest journeys.

The rear seat grows with your child up to 22kg, featuring an adjustable headrest, harness, and footrest. Meanwhile, the more compact front seat, though lacking an adjustable headrest, provides robust protection for children up to 16kg. These seats are not just accessories; they’re an invitation to rediscover family cycling with renewed confidence.

Thule car seats

Thule, seeking to expand its lifestyle brand and diversify its product offerings, turned to longtime design partner MODYN to help create its first-ever car seat range. Although Thule had a vision for an infant and toddler car seat with a matching base tailored for the European market, they depended on MODYN to shape the product’s direction and ensure it stayed true to the brand’s established design principles.

Collaborating closely with Thule’s engineering team, MODYN incorporated early testing simulations, helping to streamline development and ensure compliance with strict safety standards. The result was a highly successful product line that embodies Thule’s commitment to innovation, safety, and design excellence.
